PUKEKURA ROAD BOARD.
The ordinary in acting was held at thft school-house, Pukerinm <>n Monday. Present : Messrs Jno. (lane (chairman), R. Fisher, H. Ku-sab*-, :vnd Andrew Wallace. CoiiKiwi'ONDKNCK. — A letter was teccived from the Resident Engineer, Auckland railways, in reply to tho board's request for repairs to approaches to the bridgn on the Oiiaupo-Te Koie ro.id, intimating that thw matter would be attended to at once. — A letter was read from Mr .1. H. D. Armor, requesting the board to open an entrance to his house, Lot 177, Cambtidge West, and sayintrth.it. it could In? done for about £2 or £2 10s, The application was granted, Mr R. TVher, to get the work done. — A letter from Messrs Watson Bros, was read, requesting that the road near their place (lately formed) he gravelled as soon as soon a-> weather pennies, also asking that a culvert and cutting b<s made over a pulley on their property. It was resolved that tenders bo invited for the culvert and cutting. — A letter was road from Messrs Caloy Bros., asking that the ro.ixl f rom Ry*d«iUiV cot nor to Cogan's hill be formed and gravelled. After some discussion it was proposed by Mr Wallace, and seconded by Mr Kusabs that for the present the road be formed 100 clams more or less, and gravelled from Rysdale's corner to the first angle about 25 chains, tenders to be in at same timeja* Watson's the work to be shown by Mr Andrew Wallace on Wednesday, 21st hist, at 10 a.m. at Rysdale's corner, who will shewspeci-tica'-ions It was agreed to ask contractors to meet a member at the hospital road, same day at 2 p.m. ; tenders for both works, to be sent to Pukeiimu school-house on Saturday 31st inst., addressed to the chairman. No. 2. Station Road. —Mr Kusabs reported, regarding No. 2 Station Road, that it was of no use spending any more money on it until tho outlet of the drain was cleared. As this drain belongs to the Railway Department, the secretary was requested to write to tho Resident Engineer, asking that the outlet be opened up. Approach Royd. — A request to clear .and form a few chains of road leading into Mr Hughes'-, property was received, and Mr Thos. Cowley wrote, offering to do the samo for £I.— ( Iran ted. MisCßtJ.ANßOi's.— Mr Oane gave permission to get 2.") or 30 bundles of fascines for culvert on Watson's road. — Attention was drawn to the way in which earth had been left by R. Norrish, contractor, to the Waipa County Council in removing gravel for repair of main road.— The Cjerk was instructed to write to tho council asking them that in future instructions may be given to contractors in taking gravel from the district gravel pits that all .stripping is to be carted away and deposited where Hhown by a member of the board, and entrances to the said pits are to be kept clean. Accounts. — The following ecconnts were passed for pavmimt :— The Waikato Times, £4 2s ; G. W\ Russell, t'3 ; R. Waite, £15 ss. Messrs Giles' and Dillons accounts wore passed, subject to some amendment being passed.
