S. PETER'S CHURCH, HAMILTON.
Thk quarterly meeting of parishioner* of S. Peter's was held lust evening, when over sixty church members were present. Tin* churchwardens submitted their financial statement, and congratulated the parish upon the continued huccphb of the adoption of a " free and open church," both financially and in point of attendance. The Rev. Incumbent remarked upon the unqualified success of the recent social mooting, and attributed this mainly to the fact that the invitations thereto had been supported to a large extent by a personal visitation on the purt of the ladies of the parish. He wa* glad to say that this most desirablo branch of church work would now be continued systematically. The financial position of the parish as regards the debt of the church and parsonage was then discussed, aijd a rocommendation from the Church Society wah submitted, to the effect that some stc|" should be taken wicliin the next few mouths to raise funds toward* a substantial reduction of these liabilities. Tlib matter wa-> fully considered, and it was unanimously agreed that a fancy fair should be held at Christmas-time for the, above object. It was also arranged than .1 general committee be formed of all parishioners willing to assist, and the project mot with so genet al an approval that all present at the meeting agreed to act on this committee. MesM's A. Swarbrick, (100. Edgecumbe and Templer were appointed an executive committee to organise and arrange the necessary details.
