Thrrß is considerable excitement in town over the report of oil in the bore of the South Pacific Company. Mr Weaver, the mine manager, came in yesterday but declines to give any information. The reply to his cable to Sydney for further instruction is eagerly awaited. At Melbourne them has been considerable flutter in share a, which were quoted there at 5s to 6s fid. On Saturday Gs (id was wanted here but holders will not sell for that figure now.
