Reports are current m town to-day that the natives were ploughing land at Oakura, alonpside the hotel. This is perfectly true, but the land belongs to them. It was formerly lot to the hotel-keeper, but he had piven it up, and they are now using it. Rumours ot Maoris ploughing at Waitara have also been circulated, but there is no »:th in them.
