Melbourne, June 18. Tnrc Arldrcss-in Reply to the Governor's Speech has been voted in Parliament. Reports to hand from the Northern Territory prove that the best I'oute to Kimberley gold-field is by way of Cambridge Gulf. Three hundred men, now at Port Derby are unable to proceed to Kimberley owing to the want of water. An. influential deputation of Pyesbyterian clergymen waited today upon the Premier to urge the protection of British interests in the New Hebrides. Replying to the deputation Mr Gillies said he concurred heartily with their \iews, and maintained that England has an equal right with France to hoist her flag at the New Hebrides. He promised to immediately represent the views of the deputation to the Govenrmenf, and request His Excellency to ask the Admiralty to take steps to prevent interference with the rights and interests of thp missionaries in the New Hebrides.
