tBT TBU6Q«APH.— OWN COBBBSPONDENT.] Auckland, Wednesday Night. A sad ease of drowning occurred in Shortland Harbour last evening, tho unfortunaU victim being Mr C. E. Dodd, licensee of the Duke of Edinburgh Hotel. Deceased wa« in the habit of fishing from the ShortUnd wharf in the evening, and it in conjectured that whilo thus engaged he fell off into the river and was drowned. Deceased was a widower, and has three children, the youngett being 15 years of nge. He wm much respected, being of a moit obliging dispositon, and tho sad occurrence will ba much regretted in Auckland, where he is well-known.
