The cricket match, Australians v. Gentlemen of England, was resumed and concluded to-day, resulting in a win for the visiting team with beven wickets to .spare. The attendance at Lords wai very large, the weather during the day being splendid. The wicket was also in better order than on the previous day. The home team, which mado 99 in their first innings, went in for the second time,' Grace and Rock being the first batanen. Grace scored eleven before he was bowled, Read followed him in, but was caught after making four ; i Roller, who succeeded him was disposed in a similiar manner in the same number. Vernon now joined Rock, and scored very ■ rapidly, until the latter was caught after contributing nineteen to the score. Lord Harris faced Vernon, but put one into the bowler's hands after placing eight to his credit. The next man, Scott, w»s bowled for seven, and then Studd and Vernon got together, when some very good cricket ensued. Studd batting with great freedom ; however, Vernon, sent one back to the bowler, and retired in favour of Kemp after ft brilliant innings for 27. boon after this Studd was taken in the field after making top score (29). Christopherson wan bowled for one, and Walker, stumped, were the two last comers, Kemp carrying out his bat for 17, the innings closedfor 130 runs. After* short interval the Englishmen took the field, Jones and Blackham going in first. The pair made a fine stand until Jones was caught for 30. Scott, next man, who was bowled for a single, was replaced by Gitfen. Blackhara was given outlbwfor32, and Bonnor joined (»iffen. This pair managed to make up the requisite number (8(»), Giffen making three and Bonnor 13, each not out. Notwithstanding the fact that the visitors were obliged to play a man short, their fielding was excellent.
