Tin: thst football match of the season between school clubj came off last Satur(l iy between the abo\rt, ut Cambridge. The following were the teams :— Hamilton East: R. Sedduu (captain), M. Hume, H. Hume, A. Bage, l'\ Yon Stunner, C. Edwards, F. Nickisson, (J. A'iucent, A. Le Quosne, D. (Jelling, W. Xeilson, G. McGlasban, F. Hunt, J. (iillett, Y. Cockhead. Camhudgo: X Walker, Leo Bull, Leslie Bull, J. Howie, Jl'.J 1 '. Saigent, S. Kishworth, H. Ri-hwoitl>, E. Richardson. A. Williams, P. Itee-, H. Arnold, W. Parr, A. Jones, I ). Lee, and Wireinu Hanaro. The game thimighout was ployed with great spirit and good feeling, resulting in a draw, neither side scoring. As usual the time was dnnled into four twenties with fivo minutes interval*. Tn the first twenty L. Hull .tiul Walker for Cambridge, and A. Sage, M. Hume, 11. Hume, andli. Seddon foi ILuuiltou, Kin well. There was some good passing done by Cambridge. If anything Hamilton had the advantage as the ball was kept for the most part in the CamIn idge tweuty-fi \e. Play during the second twenty was somewhat faster. Each side was forced down once. The Cambridge heavie*, J). Lee and E. Walker, came ight tluough then- opponents' forwards, but clmldnot pass the backs, C. Edwards, H. Hume, 11. Siddon, and M. Hune. In the third twenty Cambridge had a slight ad\ant.igo. They kept tho ball well in the Hamilton twenty-five, though Seddon twice can ied it the length of the field, but each time was pulled down by Walker. At one time Hamilton was penned in a corner, w lieu M. Hume, by a very smart inn. saved hi-, side. When the fourth twenty was hUited, play uas much slower. The Cambridge boys tried to make their weight felt, and confined their play to scrimmages. Though A. Sage, M. Hume, H. Hume, nnd Seddon still tried to worry thiough, Spridon on one occasion drove light tin ongh single handed and staggered along with tin ee boys on his back. Cainbudgo was fmced down for the second time. On the whole the Cambridge boya played right well, especially some of the juniors, Bull junr., Rish worth and Sargent. Their backs- never made a mistake, and were im-pa-.iHo. Tho Hamilton backs with two of their forwauls, Jb\ Nickisson and F Yon Stunner had nearly all tho work. Many of the Hamilton forwards kicked senselcsslv in tho seiimmages, and nullified tho etfoiU <>f their lenders, \ r on Stunner and Nickis-.nn, who wero in the thickest of the fray fiom to lini^h. Bull and Yon Stin nior uinpiied, and were quite ]>li>,i-cd w ith the kindly spirit shown by each - (1.-.
