Nkws is to hand by telegraph from the lißhthouse-keeper on (Jobo Island, .stating that tlio steamer Lyeomoon, bound from Melbourne to Sydney, struck on a reef near (iioei/ Capo, at nine o'clock last night, and ha.- completely bioken up. No details are yet to hand, but it N stated that so far only ten persons .ire known to be saved.

(Received May 31st, 1.15 p.m.] Svdnkv, Monday. Newx came to hand this morning of a serious marine disaster, which occurred on the New South Wale* coast last night. The steamer Lyeemoon, 1200 ton*, belonging to the Australian Steam Navigation Company, which left Melbourne for Sydney, on Saturday evening, had proceeded as far as Green Cape, a little to the northward of Cape Howe, when she struck on an outlying point and became a wreck. Particulars to hand are only of a meagre nature, but so far as can be learned only 15 person* were saved.

Melbourne, Monday, 11 a.m. Further details show that the Lyeemoon struck the ieef close under the lighthouse at 9.30 p.m. yesterday. The loss of life is estimated at fully seventy persons. This estimate is confirmed by a message from the special correspondent of the Arpus. Up to the present time no further particulars are to hand.

[Received May 31, 3.15 p.m.] Mklbouhne, Later. The following passengers booked for Sydney by the Lyeeinoon on Saturday :— Mesdarnes Mclntyre, Ellis, H. Adams and family, Gardner, Coghall, McKillop, Campbell, child and infant, Jennings, and Hamilton ; Misses Hamilton ; Rev. W. Poole : Messrs A. Smith, A. Johnston, D. C. Harris, K. Frox, E. C. Holmes, Y. G.Bradley, A. Graham, A. McGregor, H. Lutnsden, John A. Buckley, and 37 steerage. The following are the names of the passengers saved, five, namely :— Rev. W. Poole, MesMrc Harris, Limi*den, Smith, and Master Hy. Adams. The crow saved include the captain and first officer (names not given), Hutcheson (second mate), Fotheringham (third mate), Thwmson (chief steward), Thorpe (boatswain), Robertson (carpenter), anil seamen McXally, Johnston, Burgland, and Tyrell.

[Received May 31. 7.15 p.m.] Sydxkv, May 31, 1.30 p.m. So far as can be ascertained, there \vmc twenty-one saloon passengers drowned from the Lyeemoon, beside* the crew. The total loss of life i.s exacted to reach between seventy and eighty.
