THE TE AWAMUTU CAVALRY.

The volunteer cavalry met last week for the half-yearly drill. Colonel Lyun inRpected the men on Satin day. There woro about 40 present. After the inspection the election of a lieutenant, vice Lieutenant Wilkinson, resigned, and some non-com-missioned officers took place. Trooper C. Storey Was elected lieutenant, and Trooper Kigg and Corpl. Graham were elected sergeants. We have not heard the names of the other promotion* yet. Lieutenant StoMy's appointment luu given great natiifaction to all the men.
