FATAL FIRE IN QUEEN-STREET. [BY TELEGRAPH.-OWN CORRESPONDENT.]
Auckland, Friday Niffht. Bousbom's Boarding House, which extends from Queen-street, opposite the railway station, through to Little Queen-ftropt, was destroyed by fire this morning. Seven men were injured, one fatally, and three are now in a critical condition. There was only a staircase two feet wide leading to the third storey, where there were three long rows of small bedrooms. Mo»t of the mjiuios wore caused by leaping from the windows. The name* of the injured men were " Old Charley," (his proper name could not be ascertained) who has since died, Alfred Finch, H. Laughan, Edwin Neal, Thos. Orr, J. Houghton, and J. Froosdyke. The building was insured for £2500 in the New Zealari'l Office and the furniture for £800 in the Hansiatic Office.
