NEWCASTLE ROAD BOARD.

Mr Corboy was elected chairman for the ensuing year. Tenders m»ro ordered to be called for road formafujn between Frazer'u road and Stone's corner, old Whatawhata-Ngaruawahia, road, and for detpeninj? and widening drain at back of Whatawhata township. Mefurs Crawford and, Shepherd were authorised to ins}>ect spme vut^ licar Shepherd's farm, ( , lav 'it off and call for tenders if conbiilered praoiicable. Tbe clqrk wa^ authorised to sue for rates outstanding. The chairman waa authorised j to firoceed to Auckland^^to purchase land for Mr Sealy in lieu of land for road deviation through his property if necessary. A special meeting will be h.eld on Saturday next to consider the striking of a general, rate, for current year. It was decided to consider the wants of 'tho'Pukete end of {he district at next board meeting. •
