The cold gray rain fell on me where I stood ; And black were skies above me. But beyond ' Tho glUtening trc'o tops silvered in the SW,
While birdlings sang in greetings, free and fond, And in the poft, blue »kies a rainbow shone Tn comfort me who stood in storm nlono Oh, though my life is darkened in its dawn, My fecblo strife toward good seems e>or vain, I can be glad that other lives arc bright On sun-kissed heights I never may Attain.
