THE COLONIAL EXHIBITION. [BY TELEGRAPH-COPYRIGHT.] [REUTERS TELEGRAMS.] London, May 3.
May A mketino of the Royal Coin mission of the Colonial and Indian Exhibition was held to-day, the Prince of Wales (chairman of the Commission) presiding. His Royal Highness, in the course of his speech, referred to the cordial response made by the colonies to the applications of the Commission, and proposed that the Excutive of the Commissioners be requested to convey an expression of thanks to their respective Governments for the guarantee fund for the Exhibition, which had already reached the sum of £218,000. A committee has been formed under the chairmanship of the Duke of Abercorn for the purpose of extending a hospitable reception to visitors from the colonies, and a fund is being subscribed for that end.
