Ma^ Tbk labouring classes in the United btates have commenced an agitation for the initiation of the eight hours movement. Strikes are extending over a widespread area. A serious riot took place in Chicago yesterday, resulting in the loss of several lives. It is alleged that the outbreak was instigated by a foreign socialist organism. Disturbances of more or less serious nature are reported from several industrial centres.
