THE NGATIMANIAPOTO MEETING AT KOPUA. The King Country to be put through the Court.

[from our own correspondent.] Alexandra, April 22. The Ngatimaniapoto meeting at Kopna commenced proceed ings yesterday. There were tome two hundred natives assembled. The Whatiwhatihoe committee or Ttvwhiao's members of council (Waikato'g) were by invitation of Mr I. Ormsby, the chairman of the Native Committee, (acting under the laws of the Government), present.. The business before the meeting was to discuss the question of passing all the tribal lands included in the boundary survey termed the Rohi Potae through tho Native Lands Court. There wan but a Blight opposition, and it was eventually decided to apply to the court to have the lands adjudicated. These lands extend from Kawhia to Pirongia thenci to Tunia, to Taupo, Tonga riro, Wanganui and Mokan, thonce to Kawhia. To-day has teen taken up discussing whether the Mangainahni block ahull be adjudicated upon by the Native Committee or otherwise. There was considerable op position to this being done. Many who objected to the Native Committee dealing with it, would approve of Tawhiau'i* committee doing so. Wahanui and Taonui thought, that until the Rohi Pot-no had been dealt with by the Native Lands Court, the M.ingainahoi block should be left alone. Thi3 discussion was not concluded when I left Knpua, but it was evident Wahnnui's people would carry the point their own way. The native obstructora to the surrey at Mangatautari ha\eno sympathy from the Whatiwhatihoe people. They say after handing over their lands to lawhiao, and subsequently passing them through th* Land Court, not to their satisfaction, they are only using Tawhiao'a name, in their chagrin as a handle.
