Hamilton v. Cambridge.
The return match between thes« two club* was played on the Hamilton eourta yesterday, and resulted in a victory for Hamilton, though the contest was much closer than many expected it would be. Messrs Thomson, Hunt, Fitzgerald and Hartley represented Cambridge, and Messrs Yon Stunner, McLernon, W. M. Hay and Biggs, Hamilton. Messrs Yon Stunner and McLernon disposed of their opponents, Messrs Fitzgerald and Hartley, in the first two sets, and Messrs Thompson and Hunt for Cambridge two out of three sets against the remaining Hamilton players. The winning pairs had thus to play off, Hamilton winning after a pretty tough fight. Tho following are the scores : Messrs McLernon and Yon Stunner (Hamilton), beat Messrs Hartley and Fitzgerald (Cambridge), G to 1, 6 to 1. Messrs Hunt and Thomson (Cambridge), boat Messrs Hay and Biggs (Hamilton), <> to 1. 3 to 6, 6 to 3. In the final set, Messrs McLernon and Yon Stunner (Hamilton), beat Messrs Hunt and Thomson (Cambridge), 6to 1 and G to 5, thus leaving the victory to Hamilton. The total number of games played was 58, of whioh Hamilton won 34, and Cambridge 24.
