The Waipa Prospecting Association have sent down several samples of quartz to be tested bv tho Government analyst. Two samples have lnon tested, aud the result showed bullion «i h >th, but in one in particular, the ass.iy «h nving per ton, silver, Gdwts *13{?rs; gol'l, 3dwts Ogrs. This sample was taken fr«»m the suiface of the reef where.-it is oiei t>U feet wide. ? Tho association propose Uking out soveral tons and having it sent to the Thames to be put through the La Monte process.
