Our correspondent writes:— The nnnnal picnic given to the children attending the Sunday-school connected with the Alexandra Church, came off in the Government paddock on Friday last, and was very huccessful, the young ones enjoying themselves at the usual games, swinging, racing, etc., etc. Mrs Aubin, the lady superintendent, and Capt. Capel did all in their power to forward the amusement of the young folks. Good prizes were given to the most deserving of the scholars, and not one but what was the recipitent of a gift. The tea on the lawn was to them a most sumptuous one, and it need be hardly mentioned done full justice to, the guests giving hearty cheers for their kind entertainers at its conclu sion on their departure for their respective homes.
