Addressing his constituents, Sir Patrick Jennings advocated a policy of economy in the various branches of the public service, and also pronounced himself in favour of the imposition of direct taxation, in order to clear off the present deficiency in the revenue without delay. The Rotomahana sailed this afternon for Auckland. The Wakatipu left for Wellington to-night.
