CIVIL CASES. H. Asher v. Hotb Thompson.—Claim, £16. Judgment summons. Adjourned. Te Mite v. Eaimona Patara.—Claim, £9 11^ 4d. Mr Dyer for plaintiff, and Mr Whitakor for defendant. Judgment for plaintiff for £4 Qs, with costs £3 3s». The Inhabitants op Pukekuka Road Boahd District v. Kkbble.—Claim, 11s. Judgment for amount and 28s costs. • Lewis and Simpson v. Bl"easdai,e.— Claim, £17 12s 3d. Mr Dyer for plaintiff and Mr Macgregor Hay for defendant. Some considerabln amount of evidence was taken. , Judgment for plaintiff for full amount and £3 IGs costs. Capt. Lindsay v. Gwtnnkth, as agent for the lessors of the Waotu North No. 3 E. Block, for, that he did unlawfully retain a greater charge than authorised by the Distress and Replevin Act, 18G8, to wit, the sum of £2 12s for adrertising a Bale under a warrant of distress for rent, held at Waotu. Mr Dyer for the informant and Mr Hay for defendant. [This case is one of a crop of litigation which has arisen from the sale by auction by Mr H. Cowper, on the 7th December last, of certain chattels seized under distress. Writs for an action in the next sitting of the Supreme Court have already been served on various parties.]—Capt. Lindsay, Messrs Cowper, Johnson, the bailiff, and Gr. W. - Russell, for the informant were examined and cross-examined at some length. His Worship reserved his ruling on an important poiut till next court day, when the evidence for'the defence, if the point is not fatal, will be taken.
