A Left-Handed Compliment.
An inebnatc some Jittlo whiio buck got into a tramway oar in Glaagow, and became very troublesome and annoying to the other passengers, so much so that it was proposed to eject him ; but & genial aud kind-hearted roverend doctor, who was also a passenger, intcrposccl for him, and soothed him into good behaviour for the remainder of tbe journey. Before leaving, however, he scowled upon the other occupant*? of the 'bua, and muttered aomo words of contempt, but shook hands warmly with the doctor and said, " Good-day, my friend ; I ccc you ken what it is to be drank,"
