CAMBRIDGE TOWN BOARD

The uiual monthly meeting of the above board Wii 1 * hold on Tuesday afternoon. — It was agreed on the motion of Mr He* itt that Hnll-«itreet be cleared from QueenHtreet to Taylor-street, the matter of forming to stand o\er for the present on the representation of MrT. B. Lent;?. — It vm agieed after some discussion that tenders be called for foiming .1 straight line of road frmn <iros\cnor-stieet to Thornton Road, width of street 42ft., with footpath on north .side.— lt was agreed, on the motion of Mr (iillett, that the ■■•en ices of the surfaceman should be gnen for a few days to assist the sports committee in forming a running track in tho (.Jot eminent paddock. — Tha board had no power to permit of a charge being made for admission to tho Go\ eminent paddock, and it was agreed to inform the sports committee to that effect. — Tha condition of Victoriu-street was reverted to, an<l it was agreed to have it put in proper repair at an early date. Chapel .vtrbkt. — Mr Asher spoke at length on this matter, and insisted that the work should be at once proceeded with. It w.is agreed that tenders be called for the formation of Chapel-street from Alpha to Duke-*treet, and that all previous information be pi* en to the committee, such committee to consist of tho whole board. It was agreed to form a footpath between the bazaar corner and the courthouse. Somo other business of a routine character was also disposed of.
