A mutim! of tho above association was held in the Public Hall, Alexandra, on Wi Inesday night. There were about l>o sjttlets and townspeople present, the chair being occupied by Mr Net ill Walker. The Chaiiinan said he legretted that it would be nocessaiy to adjourn the meeting f >r a week, owing to Mr Hall.ince, who vvas now on a visit to tho district, having arranged to meet the nntivo* on the subject of piospecting. lie (Mr Walker) felt con fidoiit that, very i-hortly, with Mr Dal lance* tact and kindness to the natives, the work of opening the King Countiy would be un fait accompli.
