THE ROTORUA RAILWAY.
The Go\ernment Insurance Association have, ne learn, purcha->ed tho whole of the debentures which the Thames Valley and Rotorua Railway Company were to receive for tho fir#t section of the line. The price, it is understood, is about equal to 03 per cent. As soon as the money is paid over, the bulk of it will be returned to tho Rhaipholders of tho company, a reserve bomp kept to meet certain contingencies. Tho company cannot be wound up, but will retain its exktance till the line is completed, Government finding tho funds for railway construction as required. Mr, James Stew ait, C.E., tho Company** engineer, has jmt returned from Wellington, whcie lie has arranged all tho preliminaries for poin^ on with the second section. Rotorua Railway it to bo finally completed within two ittid a-half years from tho present time. — Herald.
