Hek days have been numbered for Queen Victoria, by an alleged oraole, who sets the date of her death September 10, 1889 ; she is, this seer says, to die by or in oonsequence of a fire. The Russian czar has till 1900 to settle his earthly affairs ; Bismarck till May 30, 1890, and the German emperor tho July following. Thk Sharpening op Tools.— lnstead of oil, whioh thiokens and smears the stone, a mixture of glycerine and spirit is recommended. The proportions of the composition vary acoording to the class of tool to be sharpened. One with a relatively large surface is best sharpened with a clear fluid, three parts of glycerine being mixed with one part of spirit. A. graver having a small outting surface only requires a small pressure on the stone, and in suoh oases the glycerine should be mixed with only two or three drops of spirit.
