TI(K ordinary meeting of the council was held at Ohaupo on Tuesday. Piescnt . - Mr Gerniann (chairman pro tern.), Coun cillors Teasdale, Riddlcr, Lang, and Smith. CAMitiuiKJK Wkst Dr vinaoe.— The TCngi ncer having reported that the damage was caused by the dram cut by the Pukokuia Road Board, it was ngicnd to give the board notice cither to divert tho vvatei or tako it away. Mane. \hko Bnnif.K Fkvct.— The Kngi neer reported a wilful destruction of the new fence. It was agreed to offer a reward of £1 for the detection of tho offenders. iNHTiiucrioN to Engineer— -The Engi.•eer was directed to examide and repoit on suitable places for a gravel supply ; to give notice to Mr E. B. Walker to keep his pigs from the road, And to dixpoHe of the old timber of the Ma>>gaj»ko biidge by tender. Works Authorised. — The following works under the " Roads and Bridges Con struction Act " were ordered to be proceeded with, tenders to be called for next meeting :— Cutting at Patpranpi Cheese Factory hill ; two cuttings at W.ilshS on the Ohaupo- Alexandra road, and cutting at McNic»r« bridge. The F,ngmeer was also directed to repair the fence at Mystery Creek culvert and to dram the surface water from tho road on the south side into the creek. Correspondence. — An application was received from Mm Corboy asking for a re mission of a part of her rates. The council not perceiving any ncceimty for making any exception in flirt Corboy'a case, declined to make any reduction.— A letter was received from the board guaranteeing the ppyment of proportionate share in cost of the cheese factory cutting as agreed on. — Correspondence wan laid before the council from the Public Works Department refusing to allow the cost of the Mangapiko bridge to be included in the Roads and Bridges Construction loans. Tho ck-ik was directed to write to the Pnbhc Works Minister, and point out tiiat the money having been granted, the bi idgo had been erected on the strength of the loan, and a great injustice wsw inflicted by cutting thin nmount out of the loan after this lapse of time. Tenders. —The following tenders were, received for tho work on the Ohiuipo load . — McCiillum, lid per yard; J. Kennedy, 8M per yard; J. Cowlpy (infoimal) ; H iNorrish, 8d per yaid. The tendei of R. Norrish was accepted. Meeting.— lt was resolved to revert to Tupsdayn for the day of meeting. Thia concluded the business and the council roHe.
