OUR CHEESE FACTORIES AND THE SHAREHOLDERS.
10 nix l niron. Sni,— J sec in Tuesday & Waikato Times a lepoit of the To Awamutu Cheese Faetoiy, and the diicctots ceitainly take a veiy gloom} view of matteis in ic-pect to tho eliroso' making indnstiy. It is to mo veiy siiiptising why the Waikato factonos do not more closely follow the example of the I'aterangi faetoiy and not pay for the milk at all until the cheese is sold. I am informed that this is the leason why the Patetatigi faetoiy is such a success m coiitiast to the other factories. I am ceit.un that if tho milk supj>hois of the other factones .vould only wait, say, l'J months foi then money, and then be content to take 24d per gallon (that is tho amount I am told they got last year. This yeai they have got, so fat, '2\d per gallon, with .i piomise of more to come), the hhareholders would have a chance of getting some dividends. As it I*,, tho milk hiippheis got all tho beueht <md tho poor vhareholdet conies off second boat.- I am, yoms obediently, W.VU'A.
