SERIOUS FLOODS AT GREYMOUTH.
IBY rKLKOIimi.— PKRSS \SSOOIATION. I Gubymouth, Monday. Thk heavy rain throughout yesterday culminated in flooded rivers. This morninp.it about 3 o'clock a wall of water came down, and while the men were at work in one of the* cylinders, it had cairied .iway two row* of temporary pile«, although diiven 13 feet in the shingle. The dei rick at the end of the work w.ib carried away, aKo the donkey engine and boiler. The cylinders were not attached to any of the wood-work, and the damage it not considered heavy. It is expected to 1 ecover the engine, which is fastened to the fr.une-work. The flood is not ncaily as high as the pievious one, which carried away the cylinders and did othei damage.
