Considerable sensation has been caused in artistic circles in this city by the discovery th.it the picture of the Roll Call, which was purchased by the trustees of the Art (Jallcry as a replace by Miss Thompson of her celebrated picture, is only a French copy, and not a genuine replace by the artist herself. Brisiune, July 31. The Legislative Council last night rejected a bill sent up from the Assembly, pro\ iding for the payment of members. It is ptobable, howevei, tli.it the sum lequiied will be placed on the estimates.
