CAMBRIDGE PARLIAMENTARY UNION.

Thk usual weekly meeting of the above union was held at S. Anchowh' school-room on Tuesday evening. There was a fair attendance of members notwithstanding the inclemency of the weather. The Spe.iknr, the Yen. Aichdeacon Willis took the chair.

NOIK'I.S OK MOTION. Mr (i-wynneth for lea\c to introduce a bill to repeal the F.uli.uncnt.iry Hohararium and Pmileges Bill. Rev. H. It. Dow-.buiy to move that it ohall be competent for tlio Speaker or Chairman of Committees to declaie any subject to be of a specially debatable charactoi, and he shall then have power to call upon any member who has not .spoken by name to siieak on the question. Mr Russell to move that the present method «f electing boards of education is unsatisfactory, separate constituencies beiniy desirable, and that the Government bring in a bill dealing with the question. Rer. H. R. Dewsbxry for leave to introduce a bill entitled Tho Reciprocal Bill. Mr Wrili to move that all orders of tho day which are called upon shall be taken on tho name evening they arc net down for, unless thoy nro ordered to be adjourned by the unanimous vote of the House. Tho Trade Encouiagement with South America Bill (Mr Cowper) comes on for second reading next Hitting. The New Zealand Defences Bill (Mr Keeping) passed through committee after an interesting and spirited discussion. Mr (Jwynneth was unanimously elected Chairman of Committees. Tho House rose at 10 o'clock.
