SUPREME COURT, AUCKLAND.
Ar tlio .Supreme Court, Auckland, on Thursday, John Andeison and John (hies, both convicted on the previous day of indecent assault on females, woie hi ought up for sentence. The foniwr was sentenced to pay a tine of £10, or, in default, two months' imprisonment. The money was paid, ({das w.V' sentenced ti> three months' lreinru-ontnont. (Jhailes W.iltoi Langs tone ami Walter Davis were tried on a ch.it go of obtaining money l>y false pretences. Tlie cano was aoinewh.it peculiar. Jhe affair took place m lep.ird to the purchase of a horse at Whangaiei, a bogus pmch.w, in respect f»f which D.ivt* iepresented the pur chafer, and Langstono the agent, and the money obtained was that which he claimed as commission. The jury acquitted l).ui-<, butconMcted Ling-.tone, and sentence is deferred until tins morning. A charge against John Conius, alias Mumhy, of stealing clothes finin a clothes line, was preferred, but the jury returned a \eidictof "Not guilty."
