Annual Meeting.
The annual meeting of tho i.itepayeis of thedistiict was held at the county ch.vnborri, Hamilton Hast, vcstcida\. The following weio piesent : Missis Pumrosc, H. SteoK , Lov ett, and Smith (chaumau and members of the boanl), Capt. Steele, M^essio Gaudin, Lo (^uesne, J)avih and Owen. Thuannii.il accounts were read, and on the motion of Mr Uaudin, .secMiided by Capt. Steele, tliey were approved and signed by the chairman (Mi Piiuuose). Tho Chaiinian intimated that the into would bo i educed Is 3d. during tho cm lent year, and that the maintenance of tho roads would henceforth be done by contract and would cost considerably less than hithcito. Mr Owen referred to the fur« 3 nuisance on the nvcr lo.ul. After some discussion, the chairman intimated that tho bo.ud would see to tho matter. On the motion of Capt. Steele, seconded by Mr Le <^nesiie, a hoaity vote of thanks w.ih accorded the bo.ud and its chairman, for the, efficient manner in which thoy had conducted the business of the distiict during thn past ye.n, and Mr Pinnrose having responded, tho meeting tci mutated.
