Deceased was connected with a number of public bodies, and Iwas chairman of the Justice* of the Pe.tce. He w.ih formerly Mayor of Now Plynioutn, and captun of the Taranaki Cat airy, and at one time held the rank of Major-General in the AmencHii army. He leaves a wife and large family.
