In reply, I am directed to inform you th.it Mr. l. A. Pond, the Government Analyst at Auckland, lias beon asked to analyse any samples of beet-root you m.iy forward to him, but the Government have neither the machinery nor the skilled labour at their disposal to enable thorn to manufacture two or thieo hundredweight of mig.ir. -I have, &c, (}.
