WAR BETWEEN THE REPUBLICS. [REUTERS TELEGRAMS.]
London, April 2. Tntkllioknck is to hand that civil war lias broken out in Central Ameuea, (vw ing to an attempt on the part of the Republic of Guatemala to force the adjoining States --Nic.ir.igua, San Xahador, and Costa Rica—to enter into a federation with herself. A (pitched battle took place between the forces of Guatemala and San Salvador, with the result that the troops of the former country were completely defeated. The Republic of Mexico has sided with Nicaragua and the other States, and is inarching against Guatemala.
Washington*, April 2. The United States Government are sending a man-of-war and force of marines to the Isthmus of Panama, in order to keep open the traftic on the railway between Aspinwall and Panama, which ia obstructed in consequence of the rebellion in Columbia.
