There was a fair attendance, and the chair was occupied by Mi J. ]i. Smith, who repoitcd that an ample supply of milk would be forthcoming, After some di^ciwsion it was resolved to staita company with <v capital ot £2000 in £1 to bo called "Tho Waihou Choe*e and Uacnn Factoiy Campany." The following geutlomen woro elected a provisional coininittec for tho purpone of canvassing the district, and drawing up a pnnpectus :— Me«sr>< J. B. Smith, C. (iould, S. Seddon, J. McNicol, R. Parr, T. Rowp, H. Campbell, and J. Jackson, with power to add to their number. At a meeting of the provisional director held subsequently, Mr Smith was elected chaitman, and Mr Rowo «ecretary, and the latter wan instructed to write to Mr 11. Campbell, and to the Commissioner of Ciown Lands on tho subject of obtaining a site, and also to tho various dairy companies for mfonna^ion necessary to tho formntion of tho company,
