The grand stand caught fire, through a lighted cigar being allowed to fall between a crack, .md setting fire to snnie sorrows' neMs. The tire caused some excitement, and a xtuupedc was made from the centre of the atnnd to the lawn. Fortunately a good Mipply of water was at hand, and the fire was soon well under control. The stand is iusuied for £800. Mrs Buckley, wife of the C iloni.il Secretary , met with a painful accident oil the cour-e. She was abcut to leave Sir William Fit/herK'rt's phaeton, when her foot clipped xhe fell forward, striking her face .»n one of tho sharp iron rods on the splashbojid.
