[HT TELFdK\PK.] Te Alton \, Wednesday Night. A man named Win. (Joodwin, \\h\\e at \vf>rk <>n the railway bridge, had a nan cm escape to-d.iy from a Heriom .iccidont. He clipped from one of the stringers and fell from a height of more than twonty feet into the water, and just grazed tho cofferdam. As it was, he .sustained some rather nevere bruises, but fortunately no bones were broken. A inonnter picnic takes place to-morrow to celebrate tho Anniversary, but tho weather at present looks very threatening, and it is feared the affair will be spoiled.
