To Aroha.

The annual meeting of householder* to elect a school committee for the ensuing yiMr was held in the *choolioom mi Monday evening. Between forty .md fifty pei-ons were present. Therepoitof the outgoing committee was read and approved of and a unanimous vote of thanks was accorded to them for their sei vices during the past yeai. Reference was made in the report to the high htate of proficiency existing among the pupils. This had been testified to bv the inspector, and due praise was awarded to Mr Mariden, of Te Aroha, and to Mr Puidy, late of Waiorongomai, both of w hom were deserving of the thanks of patents for the excellent manner in winch they had conducted the schools under their charge. The original district having been divided into two, a long dis-cusmon took place regard ing the boundary line which should bcp.u ate them. After much argument it wrs decided that the line adopted at the Wniorongomai meeting hhould be adhered to. The election of the new committee was ne\t proceeded with, and resulted in the appointment of Messrs (Jeoige Wilson, J. (libbons, K. Mackio, J. A. Dobson, W. Hethenngton, J. Ilott and T. H. Smythe. Immediately after the conclusion of the business the committee met and elected Mr (Jibbons as chairman for the year, and Mr Sirythi? as secretary. The second Monday in each month was fixed upon as the regular day of meeting.— (Own Correspondent).
