The Grand Jury threw out the bill against Martin Swallow, stating that though the evidence exhibited the grossest indecency, there was no proof of criminal offence. Judge Gillies in discharging the prisoner, said the cases were most disgusting, and such as to exclude the accused from all decent society in future. No bills were found in the eases of William John Hohsou, for shooting a horse, and Huiatalii for horse stealing. Thomas Johnson, for forgery, was sentenced to two years.
