Tanner. The cricket team chosen to represent Wellington against the Auckland team to-morrow is not considered a strong one, and not a fairly representative one. The team is very weak in bowling. The election for three members for seats on the Government Insurance Association Board closed at 10 o'clock tnis morning. Major Campbell, returning officer, declares that the result will not be known for some two or three days. PORT CHALMERS, Wednesday. DUNEDIN, Tuesday. In the Supreme Couit, Jacob Vandyke, chirged with shooting at Miss Wadsworth with intent to murder, was found guilty, and sentenced to 10 years. Samuel Smith, for unlawfully wounding, was acquitted. Wednesday. A four-roomed dwelling-house at Musselburgh, was burned down this morning. It was insured in the Colonial Ofhce for £200
