John ! aing, chief cook of the Arawa, was this afternoon found in an insensible condition in the forehold of that ressel. On examination it w.w found that lie had sustained severe injuries to his head, apparently from a fall. No one on board appeuw to know how the man met with his injuries. Tiie liujiiut on the guard, John William Whttehead. resulted in a verdict of " Accidental death." The chief witnesses were the assistant guard and the mail agent. Ihe latter deposed that Whitehead told him that one of the carriages was so crowded he did not Lite to pass tluough. Sunday.
