The children of S. Andievv's Sundayschool, accompanied by their parents and friends .uid the children from the Cumbridge West ichonl, assembled at the church on Thursday morning, and after a (-hoit service left in waggons and buggies for Mi Btickland's paddock, near the race course, where every piovisiou was made for their thorough enjoyment. A laige marquee was secured for the occasion, which proved very service.ible, both for the purpose of feasting and shelter. Swings were erected, and a pmgramnie of sports w.is carried out, the different events being well contested. Suitable pri/es \\ ere giv en. In the matter of refreshment there was every provision. During tho afternoon rain fell heavily in shower*, which militated considerably ag.vinst the success of the day. Tho committee desire to e\pie-.s their thanks to all who so kindly put their conveyances at their disposal. The usual compliment was paid to Mr and Mr» liutkland in three hearty cheers.
