Singular Behaviour. AncKfAMJ, Friday Night. A sevmax named (ieorge Bettonu was behaving in a n»ost eccentric manner on the wharf last night. The lurden of his trouble was that his child had been spirited avvay by its grandmother. His behaviour was attracting the attention of the passers by, when lie suddenly exclaimed, " Here goes," and leaped over the side of the wharf into the water. He was rescued by a waterman named Hawkes, and taken into custody on a charge of drunkenness in order that he may undergo medical examination.
Stabbing Case. Reed, quartermaster of the Lady .Tocolyn, arrested for atabbing the mate, Smith, on the fingers and arm in a quarrel on New Year's Eve, has been remanded.
