A STEAMER ASHORE AT GREYMOUTH. [BY TELEGRAPH -PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Greymouth, Monday.
The s.s. Star of South in attempting to come in over the bar this morninu was caught by the current and swung light round. The captain got up will and endeavoured to extricate hinisel; fiom the difficulty, but was unable to make any headway. The vessel is now touching the stone woik with her bow just at the entrance, lising and fulling with the swell and striking each time, but aparontly she is at present without any damage. Her sails are set and steam is off. The ciowd ashore h,i\e passed two spars abroad, and a man is landing children off. There appear to be siv or seven besides other passengers. A great crowd has collected, but there is no excitement as there appears to be no immediate danger.
