ARREST OF THE SUPPOSED MURDERER. [BY TELEGRAPH -OWN CORRESPONDENTS.] Auckland, Monday Night.

Several references have been made in recent English news to an atrocious murder committed at Castletownroche, near Cork. The bodies of Mrs vSheehan, her son and daug'iler, were found in a well on the faun adjoining their own. The deceased persons disappeared about seven jcais ago, on Oct. 27th, 1877. Another brother, named William Sheehan, stated tli.it they had gone to America, and he continued tolho on the farm until about IS months a»o, when he emigrated to New Zealand with his wife and two children. The bodies uete found withiu the last thiee months, and from facts that have come to the knowledge of the police a warrant was issued for Shoehan's airest, and a cablegram announcing the fact was sent to New Zealand. Since the lcceipt of the cablegram, SiipPiiuteiident Thomson discovered the whereabouts of the accused, and placed him under surveillance. To day instructions came for his airest, and Mr Thomson, accompanied by Detectives Walker and Twoliey, went out to a taint of 20 acres at aikomiti, which has been recently purchased by Sheehan, and effected the arrest. Accused said he was quite innocent of the charge, and that hib mother, btother and s ster did go to America, as he alleged at the time. Hewas brought into Auckland and lodged in the police cells.
