The Constabularly. KmiKiHr, Monday Night. Che constabulary weie under oideia to leave this morning for Kawhia and Hikurangi, but orders were received ju&t as they weie about to fall in, countermanding the first order, juvS "Oiey are now to work on the Kihikihi-Tdupo road. The county council and the town board applied for them for this work. Mr Farrell was in communication with the hon. J. A. Tole on the matter. He received «i telegram from the latter on Saturday, saying that the Defence Minister h.id given instructions that the men were to be left here to work on the road, but no orders h<id been received by the officer commanding. Mr Fjutpll tele graphed again to that effect, and received a reply that the Defence Minister had been wired to again on the matter, and at 9 thin morning the officer commanding received institutions to put the men to work here. They are to camp about Oiakau. Considerable satisfaction wab expressed by the settlers at the tuin affairs have taken, which was brought about by the action of the council and town board. The new time table committee meeting, will be held in Te Awamutu to-morrow, to devise means for a leturn to the old timetable. Iteprescntativcs from here will attend. _
