CARP IN NGAROTO.

TO THE KPITOK. Sir,— As a doubt has frequently been expressed us to the existence of carp in Lake Ngaroto, I enclose a skeleton of one handed to me by Mr John Ohye who found it a few dayb since in his boat where it must have been left by a w.iter rat or h.iwk. Judging from the size of the bones I yiiould say the fish weighed from three to four poundt. About two years ago I found about a dozen carp, measuring from three co four inches in length in a surface well, near the stream which comes from Ngaroto lake, where they had been brought by the flood in winter.— Your &c. F. C. Germans. Patevangi, Decembpr (sth. [The skeleton may be seen at this office by tho^e interested. — En.]
