SWISS FACTORY FOR DAIRY PRODUCTS AT PUKERIMU.

O It will be remembered that a few weeks ago we lcfeired to the fact that a Swiss gentleman was about to stait a factory for the making of cheese ami condensed milk on the Swiss piineiple on Mr Gane's fai in at Pukenmu The factory, we aie j,'lad to say, will be pioeeeded with at nn tally date, and may be expected to be in full working oulei in the course of a faw weeks time It is not intended that opeiations on anything like a iaige scale will be entered upon this season, but if favouicd with reasonable Mia ss, the industry may be expected to assume more extensive pioportious next seas <n. The piopiietors have leased some few acres, of Mr (lane's faun and a cottage the 1 eon, and the plant with which they will make a stait will not be of a veiy elaboiatc chaiacter. For the piesent season the supply of about 100 cows has been guaiantced by the settlers lound about, for which they aie to receive the favourable price oi -Ucl per «allon. The making of condensed milk will not pnne a featuie of Hie new entcrpiise for the niesent, but with fair encouiagenient a step in this direction will be taken next season.
